Welcome to the Official Website for the Washington County Life Saving Crew

The Washington County Life Saving Crew provides Emergency Medical Services in Washington County, Virginia.  We rely heavily on financial contributions from our community. These contributions help us to respond to over 3,000 emergencies each year. Even if you or your loved ones have never needed our services, you can rest easy knowing that we are there for you 365 days a year. Members Bring Home the Trophies

Today wrapped up the annual VAVRS Conference in VA Beach. This past week, members of the crew have been competing in multiple events, and last night, were awarded trophies for Best Appearing Ambulance in the annual parade, 2nd place for Light Duty Rescue, and 6th place for the EMT contest.

Structure Fire

Just before 0300 hours the morning, Brumley Gap Fire Dept., Abingdon Fire Dept., and WCLSC were dispatched to Burke's Produce, just before the Russell County line on Route 19, for a structure fire. Upon arrival, the structure was fully engulfed in fire and threatening to spread to an adjacent home. Crews were able to surround and drown the structure and prevented it from spreading. First Christian Church of Abingdon Delivers a Thank You!

We were pleased to receive some goodies from members of the First Christian Church of Abingdon today. Every year around 9-11, they deliver cookies and treats to us to say thank you for our service. They stand with us for prayer, asking for our safety as well. We are so appreciative of such gestures, because though we don't expect it, it isn't often we hear a thank you. ... Trailer Fire

Admin, September 11

At 1215, WCLSC, Abingdon Fire Dept, and Meadowview Vol. Fire Dept, was dispatched to Guildford drive for a trailer fire. Upon arrival, crews found the trailer with heavy smoke and flames showing from the front side. AFD and MVFD quickly got a knock on the fire, and were able to get it under control rather quickly.
