While this weekends heat wave brought many difficulty breathing calls, Sunday night cooled down a bit with a line of storms that rolled through the area at about 11 pm. Heavy rains and winds battered Abingdon and surrounding areas, knocking down trees and power lines. Fire and EMS crews were out until the early morning hours Monday, working on clean up.
