Busy Shift Finally Ends

Yesterday's WCLSC crew had quite the shift. Thirteen calls in all, that gave them a little bit of everything. But two of the most challenging calls, came later in the day.

Single Vehicle Rollover

Admin, January 29

At 0339 hours, WCLSC and Green Springs Fire Dept. were dispatched to the intersection of Hunter Brown Road and Cleveland Road for a single car MVA. Upon arrival, crews found a black Scion, in the grass. The vehicle had rolled at least once, however the driver was wearing a seatbelt and was able to self extricate. Tractor Trailer Fire

Admin, January 28

At 144 this morning, WCLSC, along with Abingdon Fire Dept and Meadowview Fire Dept, was dispatched to MM 21. 7 north bound on I-81 for a tractor trailer fire. When crews arrived, they found the vehicle fully involved. Fortunately, the driver was able to escape without injury. Crews remained on scene to extinguish the fire and do clean up. ... A Much Needed Break

They have been happily providing a break spot for first responders and the snow plow workers, to come and refuel with snacks an drinks. They're staying open from 6-12 tonight.
