Single Vehicle Accident on I-81 JANUARY 26 - On Wednesday evening at approximately 6:15 pm, the Washington County Life Saving Crew, along with the Abingdon Fire Department, was alerted to an accident on I-81 at the 20.5 mile marker. The driver of a pickup truck heading northbound, veered off the roadway and struck a tree, resulting in the drivers' death. Welcome to the Official Website for the Washington County Life Saving Crew JANUARY 23 - Serving as the primary responders for medical emergencies in Washington County, VA, the roughly 40 volunteers that comprise the Washington County Life Saving Crew, serve at least two, 12 hour shifts per month.
