The Washington County Life Saving Crew provides Emergency Medical Services in Washington County, Virginia.  We rely heavily on financial contributions from our community. These contributions help us to respond to over 3,000 emergencies each year. WCLSC Piles on the Awards

On Saturday, June 18th, members of WCLSC attended the Southwest VA EMS awards picnic held at Hungry Mother State Park. It was a great day for everyone, and the best fun of the day was had when numerous awards were given to members of WCLSC.

House Fire

Admin, June 03

At 2358, AFD and WCLSC were dispatched to the 900 block of Maiden Street for a house fire. Upon arrival, command reported flames showing from the A & B corner of the house, which was a bedroom. All occupants were out of the home. Crews arrived on scene, laying lines quickly to extinguish the blaze. Tanker Fire on I-81

At 1339 hours, AFD and WCLSC were dispatched to exit 14 on I-81 for an MVA. Reports were that a tanker truck was on fire. Upon arrival, crews found the cab of the truck fully involved. Fortunately, there were no injuries, just a really big fire. Crews were able to extinguish it fairly quickly and return to service. EMS Strong: Called to Care 5K Run/Walk

The Southwest Virginia EMS Council will be hosting their first 5K Friday, May 20 at 7:30pm. This event will be at the Virginia Creeper Trail in Abingdon. This will take place during EMS Week and will serve as a way to honor the men and women serving the community. Single Vehicle Rollover

At about 2015 tonight, WCLSC and AFD were dispatched to the 25000 block of Old Trail Road for a vehicle that had flipped, with a patient trapped under it. Crews called Glade Spring Life Saving Crew for assistance with an ambulance and crash truck. Upon arrival, crews found a patient laying on the ground with possible life threatening injuries.
