The Washington County Life Saving Crew provides Emergency Medical Services in Washington County, Virginia.  We rely heavily on financial contributions from our community. Happy Thanksgiving

For the third year in a row, St. John Lutheran Church cooked a majority of a Thanksgiving dinner for members of the crew on Monday night. Each year we all try to get together on one night to celebrate the holiday as a crew family. Having the folks at the church, willing to go to such lengths to show us their appreciation each year, warms our hearts and means more than they'll ever know.

Active Shooter Drill

As a result of the recent shootings in the country, first responders in Washington County, Virginia participated in a drill last week, to help prepare them for the worst.

Fatal House Fire

At 0841 this morning, WCLSC and AFD were alerted to a structure fire on the 800 block of Wayne Avenue. Upon arrival, crews found smoke showing and had reports of possible entrapment. WCLSC ambulance 56 set up for rehab as the fire dept was enroute, expecting entry. Once AFD arrived, they entered the home, battling both flames and intense heat. Single Vehicle MVA on Interstate

Admin, September 29

At 1417 hours, WCLSC along with Abingdon Fire Dept., was dispatched to I-81 NB at MM 21 for a single vehicle MVA. Reports were than a van had veered off the roadway and flipped at least 3 times. Upon arrival, crews found a van on its side in the median. The driver was the only occupant and was trapped. 81st Annual VAVRS Conference Concludes

Over the weekend, the 81st Annual VAVRS Conference came to a close, with WCLSC bringing home 3rd place in Light Duty Rescue. Unfortunately most of the weeks festivities around VA Beach were cancelled due to weather, including the annual Friday night VAVRS parade.
