WCLSC Unit 54, Nearing Completion

We are happy to announce that our sister truck, Unit 54, is nearing her completion. We look forward to taking delivery at the 2014 VAVRS Conference in September.

Upon placing Unit 54 in service, Unit 59 will be retired. It has served us well and has almost 75,000 hard miles on it.

Duracell Donates Batteries to First Responders

Today, WCLSC was happy to received a variety of packs of Duracell batteries, donated by Duracell as part of their commitment to donate 1,000,000 Quantum batteries to First Responders across the country.

3 Car MVA on Lee Hwy

Admin, August 21

Just after 5 pm, WCLSC and AFD were dispatched to Lee Hwy, just past Johnston Memorial Hospital for a 3 car MVA. Upon arrival, there were 3 patients found sitting along side the road on the embankment, 1 with serious injuries. Medflight was requested for one patient and two others were taken to JMH for minor injuries. Lee Hwy was closed for a brief time and crews cleared at around 1830. ... (Full Story & Photos)

Tractor Trailer Over Turned

Tones dropped at 0737 for an over turned tractor trailer on Route 19 at John Douglas Wayside. Upon arrival crews found the driver out of the truck with minor injuries. The driver was transported to the hospital as a precaution.... (Full Story & Photos)

MVA with Minor Injuries

Tones dropped at 1441 hrs for an MVA rollover on Rt 19. Ambulances 55, 56 and rescue 51 responded to the scene. Abingdon FD responded, along with the Washington Co Sheriffs Office and the Virginia State Police. Upon arrival, crews found a van on its top.
